This matcha bowl is coated in a substantial glossy-pink glaze with grey undertones. Countless tiny air bubbles present in the glaze form a kind of haze over the bowl’s surface, muting the pink color and creating a wonderful ‘clouded’ effect. The bowl also sports a captivating crackle pattern in its glaze. The depth and definition of the crackles changes depending upon the light and the angle at which you view the bowl. From a certain angle, the crackles look multidimensional, almost like large, interlocking flakes of mica. Both the interior and exterior of the bowl are covered with this refraction and playful crackle-glaze effect. The base is left unglazed, revealing the warm, orangish-brown tones of the clay. Overall, this is a hefty, thick-walled, sturdy matcha bowl with a captivating finish.
