  • Description

This is an elegantly-shaped bowl crafted from a dark brown clay and cloaked in a shino-like white glaze.  The potter has added a plethora of comb marks to the bowl’s lower portion which both complement the bowl’s shape and allows glimpses of the dark clay to emerge from beneath the  flowing white glaze.  Scattered pinholes and a wonderful network of craze lines are present in the glaze, adding to its visual appeal.  There is a slight indent just below the rim, making the bowl easier to grasp and hold while whisking. (This impression also traditionally serves to indicate the ‘face’ of the bowl)

Please Note:
Each of these Matcha bowls features this glaze in the colors shown.  Bear in mind that each individual tea bowl will be its own unique expression of this glaze/color palette.
