This matcha bowl is coated in a dramatic black metallic glaze. The surface has a wonderful dimpled texture, which is only present in the glazed portion of the bowl. If you look closely, you can see that the glaze has a multitude of small crystalline-like formations. It is black and silver in tone, with the silver dominating under a strong light source. The foot-ring is unglazed, showing off the creamy white color of the clay and providing a nice contrast to the glaze of the bowl.
