A charming teacup with an appealing shape and size. This cup is the classic size for ‘sencha service‘, and shows well the subtleties of the various shades of steeped Sencha. With a capacity of 4 oz., the size is perfect for green tea and oolongs that are re-steeped and provide numerous refills.
The cup is coated with a bright white glaze and has a unique finish. Both the interior and exterior have an interesting texture finish that replicates the use of a piece of cloth to impress a pattern into the clay before firing. Several expressive lines of glossy blue and light green glaze add a nice splash of color to the cups interior.
Although technically a sencha cup, the steeped liquor of many types of tea would look lovely in this cup.
