A tall, straight sided teacup with a lovely crackle glaze in a tranquil shade of celadon. The depth and definition of the crackles changes depending upon the light and the angle at which you view the cup. At the ‘right’ angles, the crackles look multidimensional, almost like interlocking flakes of mica. Both the interior and exterior of the cup are covered with this refraction and playful crackle glaze effect. Only the cup’s slightly recessed pedestal base is left unglazed. The warm earth-brown tones of the clay provide a pleasant contrast to the cool green-blue tones of the glaze.
An elegant teacup that is both delicate in appearance and sturdy in the hand. It is hefty, durable and will hold heat well.
Slight variations in the painting, colors, tooling, patterning and kiln effects of Chinese and Japanese tea wares are to be expected. We have carefully photographed this item as best as possible – please be aware that different device screens can render colors and subtle tones slightly differently.
