Ice Jade is harvested in Lugu Township, and is a hand-processed tea. Ice Jade is plucked at a higher elevation than our Frost Jade, and it’s flavor reflects the increased altitude and colder air. Ice Jade is more austere and flinty than our Frost Jade: the floral notes are crisp and precise. Ice Jade is comprised of blended leaf from several tea farmers, and skillfully fired by a tea master to bring out the natural rich, flavor and arresting floral aroma of the leaf. There are several different tea bush cultivars grown on Tung Ting, and the flavor of ice Jade is a composite of the leaf grown in that area. Ice Jade has a characteristic Tung Ting lingering finish with the pleasant addition of an undertone of stone and mineral.
