We first imported this tea several years ago from the producer, Mr. Son Gauchan and our tea enthusiast customers became very devoted to it. The tea went missing for several years, but we are happy to say that it is back NOW and as delicious as ever. Our Everest tea is completely hand-made without the use of any machinery in the processing. This is perhaps the only tea factory remaining in the world where premium, orthodox-style whole-leaf tea is completely handmade.
Our Everest Hand-Rolled Tips is grown at 6,000 feet in the Sindhupalchok district of north central Nepal, in the shadow of lofty Mt. Everest. This stylish tea is fully-oxidized and has not been given the new style oxidation that leaves significant green spots and edges on the leaf. This tea is elegant, beautiful and wholly intact; a sign of careful hand-plucking and gentle handling during manufacture. It possesses a distinctive, clean, slightly spicy, fresh flavor that is singularly quite appealing. The aroma is pure, direct and stunningly fresh. A treasure!
Steep 1-2 infusions at 2 - 5 minutes.
Water temperature should be 185° - 195° F
