The
Himalaya is one of the prime tea-growing regions on earth.
High altitude combined with plentiful rainfall (and snow
melt) provide conditions that encourage tea bushes to
thrive. Nepal, Sikkim and Dooars all benefit from this
native terroir and produce small crops of exquisite tea.
We are proud to offer a selection of these fine teas when
they are available. They have a clarity that is
remarkable, and none of the finicky brewing demands of
their cousins the Darjeelings. Growing at such a high
altitude, these teas are incapable of developing sharp
astringency; they tend to lush, clear flavors and soft
body.
